Creative Halloween Costumes

Published by Brandon under Halloween Costume Ideas

Standing out in Halloween crowd can be tough especially when everybody has cool costumes. The best way to do this is through creative Halloween costumes. Using your imagination can lead to the best Halloween costume at the party, and you will be the person that everybody is talking about. Here are some ideas for you to create a unique and creative Halloween Costumes:

Use your friends and create costumes together. Look for things on TV or popular pop culture events to use. For example, using multiple friends you could create a game such as James Bond or something very popular like pacman and Mario. A few college students thought of another creative idea for a group Halloween costume. They had six guys borrow SWAT gear from a local police surplus store. Then they had two other friends pose as criminals at a costume party. The six friends then pretended to raid the party and arrest the two people. It made for a wild night and the other people enjoyed the skit a lot. The guys put a lot of effort into the idea and it paid off dividends. Other creative Halloween costumes include a homemade jack-in-a-box, someone stuck in pandora’s box, and human breathalyzer.

Try to write down a bunch of ideas and just brainstorm. Choose as many ideas as you can. You will have a lot of possibilities for creative Halloween costumes so it is best to narrow them down into the ones that are most creative. Don’t be afraid if you can’t narrow it down to one idea, a truly creative Halloween costume will take time and a little bit of effort.

Creative Halloween costumes are not something that will come to you on the first try. Brainstorm, think, and definitely get second opinions on your ideas. Regardless of age, everybody has an imagination and the possibilities for a Halloween costume are unlimited.

Here are some more creative Halloween costumes that you can wear at your party.

Halloween Ornaments

Halloween is the spookiest time of the year and there are plenty of Halloween ornaments to help celebrate the season. There are literally thousands of Halloween ornaments to choose from which will get you in the mood for the season and welcome the trick or treaters on Halloween. There are even Halloween trees for both outside and inside the house.

Halloween ornaments come in many different sizes, shapes, colors, and textures. The basic ornaments are bats, pumpkins, witches, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, and black cats. Some ornaments now move and make spooky witch or bat noises which make for a great accessory to your Halloween ornament collection.

Glass Halloween ornaments generally come in the form of globes. Because they are fragile, you do not find as many glass ornaments to place around your house or tree. Many come in six or eight piece sets and are reasonably priced. Glass ornaments are also heavier and are more likely to fall off the Halloween tree and smash as opposed to plastic ornaments.
Newer plastic Halloween ornaments include an eye-catching feature: LED lights. Brighten up any room with glowing jack-o-lanterns or mysterious ghosts. Also, plastic skeleton ornaments are growing in popularity especially the skeletons that move and glow in the dark.

Halloween ornaments are the best way to celebrate the season of Halloween in preparation of the coming fall and winter months. There are so many types of ornaments for Halloween that you can pick anything and your house will look great. Be careful though, you don’t want to make your Halloween ornaments too scary for the kids!

Here are some more great Halloween ornaments that you can buy to decorate your home for Halloween.

Original Halloween Costumes

Published by Brandon under Halloween Costume Ideas

Everybody wants to show off his or her original and unique Halloween costumes every year. Some of the most original Halloween costumes require little money and some time and effort, but will pay off when everybody notices.

One original Halloween costume that requires a group effort is a pacman costume. Dress one person as pacman and set up four ghosts. Give pacman a few seconds to move and then let the ghosts go one by one. If pacman dies, switch roles. This is an extremely creative and original Halloween costume idea that will bring a lot of fun to anybody who is participating.

Another idea for a group of original Halloween costumes is to play cops and robbers. This can take unlimited people and will have the kids or whoever is participating laughing and enjoying their Halloween. Give the cops fake handcuffs and have the robbers in orange jumpsuits (can also use the older version of black and white striped jumpsuits.)

One more original Halloween costume was found at a college party in San Francisco. Two people dressed up in one costume as the Golden Gate Bridge. Also six-cup holes were made so they could play beer pong all night. The other students really enjoyed the costume the students made and it made quite the impression at the party. It doesn’t get more original then that when it comes to Halloween costumes.

Whether you are a child, a parent, or a college student, use your creativity to make a original Halloween costume. There is no need to spend excessive amounts of money, just give a little spare time and some creativity. You only get one day to dress up as anything you want to be so make your costume count.

Cool Halloween Costumes

Published by Brandon under Halloween Costume Ideas

With Halloween just around the corner, everybody is looking to find a cool Halloween custom to impress everybody. Some Halloween costumes are scary, some are heroic, but the coolest Halloween costumes are the costumes that are unique and original. Some of the coolest Halloween costumes are:

A Mario Costume may be the coolest costume everybody could be. Mario is an amazing game that was created and you can make a game out of your costume. Get a friend to be Luigi and another to be Bowser and you’ve got yourself a real life Super Smash Brothers game. Chase Bowser around when you are going from house to house (watch out for cars though!) and your children will certainly enjoy their cool costume. Mario is always cool, but a Mario Halloween costume… Your kid will feel and be the coolest kid on your block.

Younger kids feel like trick or treating is an adventure so why not let your child dress as a real explorer. Let him be Indiana Jones! Indiana Jones is very popular among kids and you’re child will have a cool costume to show the other kids in the neighborhood.

Girls have many options such as a princess, a vampire, or little red riding hood but those are often plain and boring. What cool Halloween costume should you let her have? How about Wonder Women. Wonder Women is strong, heroic and she will feel cool with the boys in your neighborhood. Wonder women Halloween costume is definitely a cool costume for a girl.

There are plenty of cool Halloween costumes that just require a little creativity. Try thinking out of the box and asking your child what he or she wants. Interacting with them will make you both happy and you will enjoy Halloween a little more.

Halloween Decorting Ideas – Zombie Party

If you are looking for something new and different for your upcoming Halloween party I have a great idea to share with you. This year instead of putting on the “Monster Mash” and bobbing for apples why not try having a “Zombie Party?”

For your Zombie-riffic party invitations you can use heavy black construction paper and white chalk to write out the invitations. Maybe you could even cut these into the shape of a headstone? Or even glue fake eyeballs to them for that zombie effect.

Now that you have the invitations out of the way it is on to the party decorations.

I like to place realistic looking plastic body parts near the front door and all over your house to really frighten my guests. This will look like real zombies were there and just didn’t eat all of your previous guests.

Make sure to have plenty of zombie movies to play for some background party noise. Night of the Living Dead is one of the all time classic zombie movies and would be perfect for this. If you feel like dancing you could play “Kernkraft 400″ by Zombie Nation!

When you get tired from dancing here are some other great zombie activities you and your guests can do.

A great idea for the kids is to have them paint their faces to look like zombies. This will match their zombie costumes and be a lot of fun. Don’t forget to take pictures!

Create a scary coffin. A large appliance box is great for this. Have your zombie helpers use old clothes and newspapers or straw to create a dead zombie to put into the coffin. You could even stick this coffin outside and climb out when trick or treaters show up for their candy!

Play pin the liver on the zombie. Print out a large picture of a zombie along with a liver. See who can pin it on the zombie the best

Every good zombie party has to have a zombie menu. This is where you can get really creative with your zombie party. I like to serve a pasta dish filled with eyeballs (i.e. hard-boiled eggs) or gelatin filled with gummy critters such as spiders, worms and severed fingers. A gelatin brain mold is another great idea as every zombie loves to eat brains!

Here are some more Zombie decoration ideas for your party. Leave a comment with some of your ideas!

Cheap Halloween Decorating Ideas

Published by Brandon under Halloween Decorating Ideas

Halloween is celebrated on October 31st and is recognized by trick or treating and attending numerous parties in your scary/funny/topical costume.  Next to Christmas, Halloween is the next biggest holiday where many people will put out decorations to get into the spirit of Halloween.

You can decorate the inside of your house turning it into your own personal haunted house.  Or you can also decorate your front yard for all the little ghouls and goblins that are trick or treating.  You can even decorate your car to show your Halloween spirit!

Decorating for Halloween does not need to be expensive either.  Here are some good Halloween decorating ideas while on a budget.

1)      Change your light bulbs to orange ones.  This is a very inexpensive way to decorate the outside of your house with a Halloween theme.

2)      If you live on a farm or in a rural area you can probably find some bushels of hay and corn stalks to use as decorations as well.  You could even use the hay to make a scarecrow for your front lawn along with some old clothes from the closet that you never wear anymore.

3)      Purchase inexpensive Styrofoam and make tombstones.

4)      Use black and white construction paper to make paper bats and ghosts and hang them in your trees, on your walls or even stick them to your windows.

As you can see there are lots and lots of different Halloween decorating ideas you can come up with.  If you want to see some more ideas this is a great site where you can purchase some Halloween decorations.
